Upstairs Bathroom

This picture is old but I haven't put it on the blog yet. This is the small bedroom upstairs that we turned into a bathroom. The tub is the one that was on the main floor that Kent and I lugged up the stairs. We put a shower converter in it to make the bathroom more usable. I still need to paint the built-in drawers white and Kent needs to finish the floor, but it is usable right now so we are focusing on the bigger projects around the house (like the Kitchen!). Currently this is solely Isabelle's bathroom. She is loving not having to share with anyone and the fact it is right next to her bedroom. Soon Mia will move upstairs and then they will have to share...let the screaming begin!

Master Bedroom

Just the stud walls of the bathroom and walk-in closet.
My mom and I did the insulation and vapor barrier all by ourselves. We were quite proud of ourselves!
...Until the vapor barrier fell down. We put it back up though.
How many people does it take to put up sheet rock?
Kent and dad

Kent sanding the walls. Can you tell that Kent is thrilled with this portion of the project?
Bathroom
Texturing...what a mess
"Am I done yet"
Kent painting the bathroom "Copper Beach".
Mia Painting the bedroom "Rattan Palm".
Done painting and ready for carpet.
Doorway from the bathroom into Mia's room.

AND FINALLY...

The almost finished product! We moved in on Sunday and it is so nice. I never want to leave the room! Kent did such a great job!
Bathroom door is on the left and the Walk in closet is on the right.
Entrance from the Living room

Walk in closet. We are going to put another bar half-way down as well.
Bathroom. Kent will finish the vanity later. Right now it is just a push to get the important stuff done in the house.

Western Christmas

I always love to go back home. Living in the Eastern part of the state sometimes makes me feel like a fish out of water because the Western part, where I grew up, is so different. It is like a state with a split personality. So when I am home, I am in my element, things slow down and we can appreciate somethings that we don't get a chance to everyday. Buying the farm that we did, has a lot to do with the fact that Kent and I both wanted to capture a little bit of that feeling we have when we are out West in the East, since we both have very good memories of a farm out west but don't have a chance to get out there as much as we would like. So, while we were home for Christmas, we got the oppourtunity to be in the middle of what makes this part of the state so wonderful.
Team horses after the hayride out at my brother-in-law's family home (Note the lack of snow! But it was crazy cold!)
Miniature ponies. The one by Mia is the baby and the other one is the mama.
Mia riding the mama.
Us and the Chicken. Kent was having a hard time controlling the chicken. So it looks like he is crushing it, but it make it through okay...it was delicious...just kidding.
Mama pony hooked to the cart. Kent realized that if we had something like this in our town we could maybe make a killing...

Christmas

This Christmas we went to my parent's place. And like always, we were up very early in the morning to open presents which is always a huge event.
Kent and Mia trying out her new magna doodle. Seems like daddy likes it the most!
Isabelle got all of her new bedding that she wanted for her new room. Now she will have a "cool, grown up room."
Mia, pleased with her loot.
Kent and I got new dishes that we wanted and are very excited to use them. Currently, they are still in their boxes, waiting for a complete kitchen to go into....
