Guest Bedroom

Kent is currently working on the guest bedroom in the basement.
Mia drew a picture and Kent put up on the insulation. She thought it was pretty neat that her picture will be there forever.

Christmas Star

The saturday after Thanksgiving Kent put a star up on our barn for the Christmas season. It looks so neat from the road.

Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving, we spent it quietly at home. Since I had gone back to work the Monday before, I thought a long weekend far from home would be even more draining. So we had the traditional dinner for just Kent, Mia, and Me.
Do not forget wine in the freezer...it explodes.

Can you believe that all this food if for two adults and one kid!? By the end of the weekend we had it all pretty much eaten too!

Milo getting his Thanksgiving dinner. I fried up the turkey liver, gizzard, and heart. He loved it and took a good nap afterwards.

2 Months Old

As you can see, Marshall has really filled out since his one month picture!

Chickens and Goats

Here are some pictures of our grown up chickens. They have grown a lot and the Roosters are now crowing. The goats will eat just about anything in sight and they noticed that Mia was feeding the chickens bread one day.

Manly Make-up

I warned Kent before Marshall was born that having two older sisters, he was going to be subject to wearing make-up and dresses. I didn't think that the make-up would happen this soon. I stepped out of the room for a bit and came back and Mia had decided that Marshall needed some yellow eye shadow. He didn't seem to mind!

Mia's Outfit

Mia thought it would be okay to go outside wearing this outfit. She found out pretty quick that it was a little too cold for flip flops.

Kent's Birthday

For Kent's 34Th birthday, we spent a quiet night at home. I made him a white cake with chocolate frosting. Mia wanted to make sure mom put some decorations of daddy's cake, so I put some M&Ms on it and it turned out pretty cute. Mia was satisfied.

Halloween

These pictures are not in order for some reason....
The Kids and the pumpkins they carved
Isabelle was a hippie this year...fit her very well.

Mia wanted to be "something scary" this year. I ended up putting green makeup on her face with black rings around the eyes.

Pumpkins lit up.

Carving pumpkins.

Duluth

At the end of October Kent had a convention to go to in Duluth. Since I was still on maternity leave, Mia, Marshall and I went with him just for a change of scenery. We didn't do much since most everything was closed for the season, but we did go walk the grounds of the Glenshene Mansion. It was nice to get away, stay in a hotel and eat out for a few days.

Milo and Marshall

I was certain Milo would be jealous of Marshall and at first Milo wasn't sure what to think of him. Soon they were buds.

I am still the baby right???

One Month Old

Here is a picture of Marshall at one month old. He was just starting to smile but I couldn't get him to do it for me to take a picture. He looks cute anyway!

Basketball

During the month of October, Isabelle had basketball at school. She did really well and enjoyed it very much. She was the only girl that had prior basketball experience so she had a little headstart. The team did not win a single game this year, but they got close one time...

Shingles

On October 4th, Kent, Steve, Jerry, and Allen tackled the nasty shingles and put new ones on. Unfortunately, there were wooden shakes under the old nasty shingles and they posed a huge problem with getting the roof stripped down and slowed them up considerably. They were only able to get the one side done. The front side will have to wait until spring.
New shingles, Siding and windows...It sure looks alot nicer than it did a year ago!
The wet, soggy mess of shingles and shakes.

Yuck!

Big Sister

We worried about how Mia would adjust to having a little brother that took away her "baby" status. But, he really adores him.

After Marshall was born, Kent's parents and my mom and sister came to visit.

Finally, He Arrives...

I finally got these pictures to download! They are backwards but posted so everyone can see them.
On September 15, after about a week of off and on contractions, the Dr. decided to induce me. She started the petocin at 3pm, broke my water at 5pm, got an epidural at 7pm and Marshall Leonard Severson was born at 8:31pm. He was 8lb 1oz and 20 inches long.
Marshall was getting his diaper changed and crying. Mia and Isabelle covering their ears.
The day we got home from the hospital
