Finally, He Arrives...

I finally got these pictures to download! They are backwards but posted so everyone can see them.
On September 15, after about a week of off and on contractions, the Dr. decided to induce me. She started the petocin at 3pm, broke my water at 5pm, got an epidural at 7pm and Marshall Leonard Severson was born at 8:31pm. He was 8lb 1oz and 20 inches long.

Grandma Comes to Stay

D-day was getting closer and Kent's mom was nice enough to come and stay with us until the baby was born and afterwards to help take care of the girls and the house while we were all adjusting to the new baby.

Actually, she had just got done spending all day on her feet cooking, baking, and cleaning and thought she would rest her back and read Mia a book.

A Few Weekends Ago...

We took a big risk and let the goats out to run free. They were really good and stayed in the yard. Half the time they would just follow us around. So we have been letting them out on a daily basis now if the weather is nice.

Pre-Kindergaten Classes

At Northern Cass, they have an eight-week class of children attending kindergarten the following year. It helps parents know what the children should know before beginning kindergarten. It is really nice because they give us all this material and information to work with them at home so we don't have to spend a bunch of money on pre-school. It is run by the kindergarten teachers at the school. It is so great because Mia is getting a little taste of a classroom setting and she is meeting her future classmates and teacher.

Kitchen

My kitchen was clean for 10 seconds one day so Kent took some update pictures. these are just on one side of the kitchen. We forgot to take pitcures of the area by the fridge which is more cabinets, a smaller counter top area and and a pantry.

We still need to add hardware to the cupboards, finish the trim around the window, add cabinet doors to the cupboards up above on the right and add cupboards and a light fixture above the window. So, again, still work to be done in every room of the house. But, it is all taking shape into what we want it to look like. The kitchen is going to be my favorite room because it looks just like I would picture a farm kitchen to look like (of course a lot smaller than I would like).

Windows and Siding

This has been an on going project all summer long. Kent has been slowly but surely replacing all of the windows and residing the entire house. At the end of this particular weekend, he had all but two of the windows replaced. The two left are the stair landing and upstairs bathroom.

Green Beans

A few weekends ago the green beans were ready to harvest. We had some later that night and our only regret was we didn't plant near as much as we should have. They were so good! I guess we know for next year!

Marshall's Room

Kent did the selecting of the decor for Marshall's room. He wanted to do it in a farm theme. He did a good job and like every other room in the house, it is a work in progress. I want to get some Case Tractors and some pictures of farm animals etc to put in the room.

38 1/2 Weeks Pregnant

This shirt makes me look huge - but oh well, I am pregnant!

Family Room

Kent taped and textured the family room. Then he painted and put down laminate flooring

This area will have a small closet on the left and the fridge and bar area will also be located here.

Where the family room is right now. Still some work to be done but it is useable. It is nice to have somewhere else to go and watch tv and is clean and new.

Redhawks

A few weeks ago we went to a Redhawks baseball game. Kent got some tickets so we were able to have hamburgers and hotdogs before the game and the girls both got a ball.

Mia's Weekend

Windows and Siding

This weekend Kent worked on the windows and siding of the house. He now has all the windows on the main floor replaced and is going around the main area with siding. So he just has the six windows upstairs left to do and we have all new windows! YEAH!

Milo

This weekend I took some new pictures of Milo. It is amazing how fast he has grown. He is still a kitten by his behavior though. He loves to play and usually involves a lot of biting and scratching...

Super Mia

Mia found her old bat costume one day and asked me to tie a dishtowel around her neck for a cape and this is what we got...

Basement Family Room

The girls and I went to my parents for the weekend in early August to give Kent time to work on some projects around the house. He started the family room in the basement. The family room in under the north side addition which is below the master bedroom/bathroom. It will be so nice when this room is done and we can start to organize the basement.

Butterfly Garden

This spring Mia and Kent planted some seeds called "butterfly mix". I wasn't too sure what it was going to look like, but it really turned out pretty.

Chickens

Our Chickens. The black and white one was thrown in with our chicken order as a free exotic chicken with our order. We enjoy him, he is so funny. Mia named him "Little Foot" and says "he's a handsome little man".

A few weekends ago we decided the chickens were old enough to have some "outside time". They were nervous at first, but now the have a good time pecking around the yard eating grass and bugs. Now in the morning they run for the door when they hear it being opened and then about 8:30pm they all go up the their little roost that Kent made them inside the coop and we count them and close up the door.

The Severson Fleet

One Sunday Kent took the afternoon and washed all of our cars. Since they were all still clean, he decided it would be a good time to get a picture. The Impala and Truck have been with us for awhile and we have no plans to get rid of them (too attached). The red cavalier is going to be our back and forth car for work during the week, once a few things get repaired on it and, yes....the vehicle on the end is a MINI VAN. Anticipating the arrival of kid #3, we bought the van at the beginning of July and got a great deal on it and honestly - WE LIKE IT! Yes, we are van people and are okay with that...
